Well, here it is! My new Blog - set up for my adventures abroad. My adventure starts in South Carolina and then will take me to Dubai where I will spend at least one year working for my company and the US Government. I will be taking "business trips" to Afghanistan where needed. My job has yet to be determined. However, from what I understand, Dubai is where all civilians must enter and exit Iraq and Afghanistan. I will more than likely be helping bring people in and out of the war zones. I will be working 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week - upwards of 100 hours per week. It will be a hectic schedule, but well worth it. The adventure of being able to give back to my country and help our military is very rewarding. I just hope I can do a great job.
This Saturday I will be heading out to Greenville, South Carolina to start my training. The training, from what I understand, will teach me about the new systems I will be using as well as any Military training I will need to protect myself when going into Afghanistan.
This week I am in some down time trying to make sure I have everything in order here. Tomorrow I head to Houston to get all of my shots. That is one trip I am not looking forward to. I hear it is not pretty and I should expect to be very ill. Thursday I will work for my old department. Then it is wheels up on Saturday and training starts on Sunday. I will try to write in here as often as time allows.
The hardest part of leaving is my dogs, family and Kirk. I will miss them so much. My family and Kirk will be able to visit - hopefully - so it I am looking forward to their visits already. Luckily my family took in my two doggie kiddos and I know they will be well cared for. Mom is already taking them on walks every morning and whipping them in to shape. I guess I spoiled them a little too much!
